New! Vermont Artisan Coffee

Filed under: New Products — Kyle at 8:40 am on Wednesday, March 24, 2010

As an insatiable coffee-addict, I am pleased to announce that as of this Thursday (March 25), we will be carrying coffee from the Vermont Artisan Coffee and Tea Company. I recently had the opportunity to visit their facility and participate in a sampling of a number of their roasts. Everything I tasted was delicious. So much so that I’ve been drinking their coffee all week at home.

On Thursday, we will be bringing in their products to the store. We are starting with four of their more popular roasts and will expand our line as demand allows.

To help usher in this new product, Vermont Artisan Coffee will be running a couple of demo in our store. The first demo will be on Saturday, March 27th and will feature their “Black Series” as well as their Decaffeinated coffee. The second demo will be a week later, on Saturday, April 3rd, and will feature a couple of their higher-end roasts, likely including the Brazil, Ipanema Rio Verde. I tasted it while I visited their operation and it is utterly fantastic. Plus, it will be our first coffee from Brazil in the store, so if you are eager to try coffee from a new region, this will be your chance.

So come on by during the demos and try a cup of their coffee. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Ramble on,
Kyle

Don’t forget to put your order in for your Easter ham. Not sure which ham to get? Well, then you should probably stop by the store this Thursday between 3 and 6pm. McKenzie will be running a demo of some of their most popular hams. If you like what you taste, you can place your order that instant. What could be easier?

Drink coffee, support the community

You know what’s good on a dreary day like today, or any day, for that matter? A nice, hot cup of freshly brewed coffee. Here at the Shelburne Supermarket, we keep the coffee flowing every day of the week (maybe a bit extra on Mondays). Not only will the coffee perk you up in the morning, but all the proceeds from our coffee sales go to support the Shelburne and Charlotte Food Shelves (Shelfs?).

You’ll see the donation box next to our coffee table. There are suggested donation amounts for particular size cups, but anything you donate is happily accepted. Don’t have any cash on you? No worries. Have a cup of coffee anyway Drop some coins in next time you come by the store.

One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Food Shelves. No overhead. So drink up and feel good about it!

Cheers,
Kyle

Next Wednesday is St. Patrick’s Day, so don’t forget to stop by the store and stock up on Corned Beef and Cabbage. Oh, and don’t overlook the food coloring for some St. Patty’s Day green beer!

Door!

Filed under: General News — Kyle at 8:28 am on Wednesday, March 3, 2010

It may have seemed like forever, but we once again have a functioning front door! No more dodging oncoming carts when coming in our ‘out’ door. We pledge to go at least six months before careening another vehicle through it. Thank you everyone for your patience!

Cowabunga,
Kyle
