August 20th? When did that happen?

Contrary to what the weather is telling us, Summer is not just beginning. I shed no small amount of tears when I glanced at the calendar this morning and came to the stark realization that we are already 2/3 of the way through August. Did I miss something? When did this happen? I was just barely able to make it through two days without getting my umbrella out.

It would appear that it will soon be September (gasp), and we all know to what that leads. So, don’t miss the decreasing number of chances you have left to enjoy summer’s bounty. Now is the time to feast on all the local produce that pours into our store during this time of year. Yes, I know that Autumn brings the apples, but that’s not the point right now.

I did hear some good news, however. While talking to Mr. Brigante, I learned that his corn crop did exceptionally well this year, and it will likely be available deep into September. I usually have the poor luck of missing the last few corn days of the year and then I am depressed for the next ten months. It’s just like Girl Scout Cookie day. Am I always out of town on that day? What gives?

Anyway, come pick up some delicious local produce and throw a salad together. You’ll be happy you did.

Kyle

How’s it going?

Hey Everyone,

It’s been a little while since I’ve written on here. We have been having a couple of busy weeks recently, which is something that we like,  but it has unfortunately caused me to neglect my blog responsibilities.

There isn’t, however, a lot going on here out of the ordinary. I’m finally becoming cautiously optimistic that the weather is coming around. Now, I’m not expecting that it won’t rain more, just hopefully not quite as much.

One great thing about this time of year is that we are constantly receiving new fresh local produce from a variety of local farms and co-ops. You are doing yourself a serious disservice if you are not eating loads and loads of all this delicious produce, especially the corn. Oh man is the corn good. So come enjoy some soon because we all know how quickly this time of year goes by. See you around.

Ituo,
Kyle
